A Brief History
Skidmore Engineering is a family business started by Richard H. Skidmore in the 1950’s. He was a graduate of Case Technology and had many patented inventions. The calibrator was the first product that lead him in the direction of torque measurements and controls. The “snap-click” Skidmore Torque Wrenches were the benchmark for the industry and have continued to provide accurate tightness for fasteners throughout the world.
His son, Ray has continued the family commitment of providing quality torque wrenches. These wrenches have lasted through thousands of uses while holding critical tolerances. You can feel and hear when the exact torque setting is attained. Our Skidmore Torque Wrenches are in daily use at Chrysler, Ford, GM, IBM and many other manufacturers throughout the world.
The Skidmore Optical Center Punch was developed to assist the Tool and Die Industry with proper and precise hole positioning. The small, compact unit provides dependable, trouble-free, time-after-time accuracy through its unique magnification feature.
